This is the same
game as Cincinnati except that the lowest exposed card and all other
cards of the same rank are wild. How to play: Games in which the
rank of the wild card can suddenly change are almost beyond calculation!
The only way to judge the chances accurately in Lamebrain Pete is
to compute the probability that each rank will eventually become
the rank of the wild cards.
Such a calculation must be based on the cards held by the player,
the cards exposed, and the number of cards yet to be exposed. Since
no one wishes to make a calculation of this sort, the most practical
technique is to judge roughly the chance that the current lowest
common card will eventually become the rank of the wild cards. Unless
there is a good chance that this card will remain wild, and you
have a strong hand under this assumption (such as five-of-a-kind!),
do not bet strongly.
The only exception to this is a hand whose value can be transferred
to any wild card. A hand such as three aces qualifies, as any wild
card will make it four aces, and the holder need have only one other
favorable card for an unbeatable high. Needless to say, nothing
less than five aces can be backed strongly in games with both a
large number of common cards and a large number of wild cards.
